Medior Backend Developer

At Crowdtech, we are looking for a Medior Backend Developer to join our team.

As a Backend Developer, you will work with the Development team to build our web-based research software: Crowdtech Insights. You will write software based on detailed specifications. You also have experience with database work in a high-performance environment. Naturally, you ensure that the software meets the requirements in accordance with data security. In doing so, you work closely together with experienced Backend Developers, Frontend Developers, Testers and the Product Owner.

Together with you, Crowdtech reduces the gap between organisations and consumers.

What will you do?
The development department consists of 2 development teams, in which 10 colleagues work together according to Scrum. The roadmap consists of epics that must contribute to the vision of the Crowdtech Insight product. For example, accessibility and innovation are key.

+ The development teams are responsible for developing our software used for market research purposes by our 300+ clients and millions of respondents. You can think of online research such as questionnaires, communities and dashboards.

+ We work with 2-week sprints. At the end of each sprint, there is a demo and review in which the development team shows the developments to the stakeholders.

+ In the sprint planning, the work for the next 2 weeks is divided among the teams. This is planned under the guidance of the Scrum Master and Product Owner.

+ Every morning starts with a stand-up where development colleagues can discuss their work.

+ Development takes place in C# and MSSQL, with Javascript (VueJS) and HTML/ CSS. Furthermore, we work with large amounts of data, which is why database maintenance is also part of the work.

+ To test the completed work, a staging environment has been set up where over 2,000 automated tests are run before a 'go' on going live.

+ The development team is usually in the Amsterdam office on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, so they regularly work from home.

Who are you?

+ You are an experienced developer with at least 3 years of working experience with backend projects.

+ You are analytical and have a passion for IT, web development and databases.

+ You are strong in C# and MSSQL.

+ Experience with database maintenance, Javascript (VueJS) and HTML/CSS are a plus.

+ You love innovation.

+ You are a real team player.

+ You have good communication skills, are fluent in Dutch and English is also easy for you.

+ You live in the Netherlands (preferably at a reasonable distance from our office in Amsterdam).

The team
You will join Crowdtech's development team where everyone has their role and is there for each other, with the aim of making it a great success. The team is a mix of developers who have worked at Crowdtech for years and new team members with a fresh look at Crowdtech Insights. This team is responsible for developing our software that has been used for 20 years for market research purposes by clients such as Achmea, Jumbo, Albert Heijn, HEMA, Heineken, NS, World Wildlife Fund, etc.
